After many months of living with the coronavirus pandemic, we've all seen some very creative birthday celebrations by now. While gathering in person remains a risk, we've compiled a list of some fun alternatives. Plus, enjoy our birthday word search and pop-up card download to decorate and send to loved ones on their birthday! Use our 'Happy Birthday' template or design your own.

In addition to making special cards, consider:

1. A Drive-by Birthday Parade. Enlist friends and family who live nearby to drive by and make your child feel special! Break out some big signs for the lawn or windows.

2. Hosting a Zoom Party. Have a movie night, play games, or just hang out! This list by Indy with Kids has some great ideas for spicing up video chats to incorporate movies, games, and more.

3. Going on a Neighborhood Walk. For those who live near lots of neighbors, consider reaching out ahead of time to ask them to put up small decorations or signs for your child to go on a "scavenger hunt" to locate. As Bucks Happening suggests, invite people to write birthday messages in chalk on your driveway. If you don't have a driveway, have visitors sign a big poster-board birthday card placed outside!

4. Ordering In. Support local restaurants and businesses and have special birthday treats and activities delivered right to the birthday star! NBC Today also compiled this list of birthday gift baskets guaranteed to make the recipient feel special.
