Let's Go Outside! Fall Scavenger Hunt & Leaf Tracing
Updated: Sep 1, 2021
Believe it or not, fall is upon us already. Here are two activities that are perfect for taking advantage of cooler weather and the outdoors:
1. Scavenger hunt. Head out to the yard, a nearby park, or wherever space is available. Can your child check off all the items on the list? For added fun, time them to see how long it takes. Multiple kids? Make it a race! Download and print our Fall Scavenger Hunt sheet at the bottom of this post.
2. Leaf and bark tracing. We love this "Bark Book" idea for collecting cool natural patterns (via HowStuffWorks). All you need are some big crayons or chalk, paper, a tree or two, and leaves! Your child can use a clipboard to keep track of his or her "samples," like we did, or even devote a whole notebook to their findings.
Be sure to check out our pine cone bird treats and nature sensory bin posts for even more ideas!
